About the Job
The Junior Auto Electrician supports the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in electric vehicles (EVs). This role provides hands-on assistance to senior technicians and ensures that EVs are serviced and repaired according to workshop standards while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support in Diagnostics and Repairs
- Assist in diagnosing electrical issues in EVs under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Perform basic repairs and replacement of electrical components, such as wiring, connectors, and sensors.
- Report findings and progress to the Senior Auto Electrician.
- Maintenance Tasks
- Conduct routine checks on EV components, including batteries, motors, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned, ensuring vehicles meet operational standards.
- Workshop Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and tools related to EV maintenance.
- Document work completed and assist with preparing service reports.
- Learning and Development
- Attend training sessions on EV technology and workshop safety practices.
- Stay updated on advancements in EV systems and diagnostic tools.
- Seek mentorship and feedback from senior technicians.
- Safety and Compliance
- Follow safety guidelines, especially when working with high-voltage systems.
- Ensure compliance with workshop protocols and manufacturer standards.
- Customer Interaction
- Support senior staff in explaining basic technical details to customer service when required.
- Provide assistance together with customer service in resolving customer concerns about their EVs.
About You
Education:
- Diploma or certificate in Auto Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience as an auto electrician, preferably with exposure to EV or hybrid vehicle systems.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical skills and a willingness to learn may be considered.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of EV components, including batteries, motors, and charging systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and basic repair techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical manuals and schematics.
- Good communication and team work skills.
Certifications:
- EV Maintenance Training Certification (preferred).
- Basic High-Voltage Safety Training (preferred).
