Tinaw Business S.C. is legally registered entity established in accordance with the Commercial Code of Ethiopia. Located in Guraghe Zone of the Central Ethiopian State Ezga Woreda. The Company is currently engaged in the production and exports of rose flower on 32 hectares of greenhouse coverage and exports to the international market. Currently the company employs about 800 employees and generates millions Euro per year. Building on 18 years of experience and remarkable performance in the floriculture sector, the company has embarked on farm expansion project on 54 hectares of land. The first phase of the project implementation on 15 hectares is almost completed and the second phase has started on 25 hectares.

We want to recruit and hire a highly skilled, and competent Junior Occupational Health and Safety Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health and safety of staff.
• Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
• Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
• Assist in ensuring the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
• Investigating/recording incidents, accidents, complaints and cases of ill health
• Assist in ensuring that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
• Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
• Assist accidents investigation and recommend improvements.
• Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained.
• Assist Establishment of full program of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
• Participate in monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health & safety matters.
• Assessing risk and possible safety hazards of all aspects of operations
• Inspecting production equipment and processes to make sure they are safe
• Focusing on prevention by keeping up with equipment maintenance and employee training
• Participating in continuing education to update knowledge of health and safety protocols and techniques
• Liaising with law enforcement and other investigators who are present at the time of a serious accident
• Finding the best way to prevent future accidents
• Other related duties when ordered by your immediate supervisors.

BSC in Occupational Health and safety, and related fields with minimum of one year’s related experience in environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan. Preferable on horticulture industry, or flower farm.

Knowledge of industry trends and applicable legislation/regulation of the country and the ability to travel to multiple sites, often at short notice.

Proficient in English.
