Job Summary:

The Manager, ESG and Sustainability Services is responsible for leading the service line and managing the overall performance of ESG and sustainability consulting services. This role involves overseeing project execution, providing strategic direction, driving business growth, and ensuring the successful delivery of sustainability solutions to clients. The position holder will also be responsible for expanding the firm’s ESG services, managing a team of professionals, and ensuring alignment with global and local sustainability standards. Additionally, the Manager will play a pivotal role in client engagement, business development, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the service line remains competitive and innovative in the evolving sustainability landscape.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Managerial Responsibilities

• Lead the ESG and Sustainability Services service line, setting strategic objectives and ensuring alignment with the firm’s overall business goals.
• Manage and oversee the performance of the service line, ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
• Supervise and mentor a team of ESG consultants, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
• Develop and implement annual business plans for the service line, tracking progress.
• Manage financial performance and revenue growth strategies.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration within the firm to integrate ESG considerations across different service lines.
• Represent the firm in industry events, conferences, and regulatory discussions to enhance visibility and credibility in ESG & sustainability consulting.
• Ensure the service line remains compliant with emerging ESG regulations, industry best practices, and client expectations.

Project Execution and Delivery

• Lead the delivery of complex sustainability projects from initial risk assessment to implementation and reporting.
• Ensure projects are executed efficiently, meeting scope, timeline, and budget requirements.
• Support clients in designing and operationalizing sustainability strategies, including setting targets, defining KPIs, and establishing frameworks for measuring and monitoring impacts.
• Analyze sustainability regulations & policies and develop roadmaps and action plans to guide clients toward achieving sustainability goals.
• Develop and implement strategies to address key sustainability risks and opportunities across various industries.

Technical Expertise and Reporting

• Provide high-level guidance on ESG reporting frameworks, ensuring compliance with global standards such as SASB, GRI, and IFC Performance Standards.
• Conduct rigorous data analysis to identify key sustainability risks and opportunities and inform decision-making.
• Ensure high-quality ESG due diligence reports, maintaining compliance with business quality systems and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the preparation of structured, concise, and meaningful reports that provide clear insights for clients.
• Ensure deliverables meet industry standards, client expectations, and internal quality control measures.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring long-term partnerships and repeat business.
• Collaborate with business development teams to craft compelling client proposals and secure new contracts.
• Lead client discussions and workshops, helping organizations navigate their sustainability transformation.
• Ensure client satisfaction through proactive engagement and timely resolution of challenges.

Service Growth and Innovation

• Drive the growth of ESG & Sustainability services by identifying new business opportunities and developing innovative service products.
• Foster continuous improvement in service delivery, aligning with best practices and emerging trends.
• Keep up to date with local, regional, and global ESG/sustainability regulations and requirements.
• Explore new methodologies, technologies, and approaches to enhance ESG/sustainability service offerings.
• Develop partnerships and collaborations with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and academic institutions to advance sustainability services.
