POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Director at East African National Distribution SC (EAND),a Subsidiary of East African Holding SC is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to drive growth in the local cement and construction materials market. This role ensures that marketing efforts align with company objectives, focusing on increasing market share, enhancing brand recognition, and expanding product sales. The Marketing Director will lead the marketing team, oversee campaigns, manage brand positioning, and ensure the company remains competitive. Additionally, the director will oversee market intelligence activities, providing insights to guide strategic decision-making.
Marketing Strategy Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for the cement and construction materials sectors, aligned with EAND’s strategic goals.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities in the local market.
- Collaborate with the sales team to create marketing plans that promote EAND’s cement products and construction materials, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
· Market Intelligence and Analysis
- Oversee the market intelligence function, ensuring the continuous collection and analysis of data on local market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to provide actionable insights that inform marketing strategies and product positioning.
- Monitor changes in the market environment (e.g., pricing, regulations, customer behavior) and provide the leadership team with regular updates.
- Utilize data from multiple sources (e.g., market research, customer feedback, industry reports) to inform decision-making and adjust strategies as needed.
Brand Management and Promotion
- Oversee the development and implementation of the brand strategy, ensuring consistent messaging across all marketing channels.
- Lead brand awareness campaigns to enhance the company’s visibility in the local market.
- Develop promotional materials, including brochures, advertisements, and digital content, to effectively communicate the company’s value proposition.
Product Marketing and Distribution
- Lead marketing strategies to promote cement products and construction materials distributed by EAND in the local market.
- Work closely with the sales team to create marketing strategies that highlight the benefits and features of EAND’s products.
- Ensure competitive pricing strategies through regular analysis of market pricing and competitor offerings.
Customer Engagement and Relationship Management
- Develop and implement customer engagement programs that increase satisfaction and loyalty within the local market.
- Create feedback loops and conduct regular customer surveys to gather insights for product and service improvement.
- Participate in local industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to strengthen relationships with customers.
Digital Marketing and Analytics
- Oversee the company’s digital marketing efforts, including email marketing, social media, and content marketing.
- Use analytics tools to measure campaign performance, track lead generation, and assess customer engagement.
- Regularly monitor key marketing metrics to optimize strategies for higher ROI in digital and traditional channels.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective resource allocation for local marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure all marketing activities provide a positive return on investment.
- Provide regular reports to the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer on budget performance.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
- Set clear performance goals for the marketing team and provide regular feedback, performance evaluations, and developmental opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous improvement.
Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Integrate sustainability practices into marketing operations, promoting environmentally responsible cement products and services.
Lead marketing initiatives that align with the company’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals, emphasizing community engagement and sustainable practices in collaboration with the BTF Foundation..
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Marketing, International Business, or Business Administration is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a senior role in marketing and sales.
- Experience in leading strategic marketing programs and international business expansion.
- Cement export experience is highly preferable.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and export strategies.
- Strong understanding of international trade, customer segmentation, and analytics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Strong expertise in marketing strategy development, market expansion, and sales growth.
- Deep knowledge of international trade laws, export regulations, and distribution management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams to achieve business objectives.

- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Experience in managing export sales operations and distribution networks.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including email, social media, and analytics.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
