About the Job
Under the supervision of the Technical Head/ MCH Specialty Centre Manager, Porter in the Maternal and Child Health center is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, client handling and efficient operation of the MCH. This role includes transporting patients, equipment, and supplies within the facility and providing general support to the healthcare staff.
- Duties and Tasks:
- Safely transport patients to and from various locations within the facility.
- Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs, beds, and other transport devices.
- Move medical equipment and supplies to and from the MCH department as needed.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and properly stored.
- Ensure cleanliness in patient rooms, waiting areas, and other designated areas within the MCH department.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Report any hazards or potential safety issues to the supervisor.
- Assist nursing and medical staff with various tasks as requested.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
- Maintain accurate records of transported patients, equipment, and supplies.
- Complete any necessary documentation related to transport and cleaning activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the MCH Supervisor/Manager.
Job Specification:
Education and Experience:
- 01 year Experience
- Vocational school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of healthcare operations and patient care.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and transporting patients and equipment.
- Good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality customer service.
- Ability to follow procedures accurately and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare staff and other porters.
