Location/duty station: Benshangul Gumuz, Asosa Zone, Kurmuk Woreda Project Site – Fly In/Fly out roster (6/2weeks)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Site-Based.
KGM is searching for a Mine Planning Superintendent , duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement comprehensive mine plans, considering geological data, ore body characteristics, geotechnical criteria, and mining constraints to optimize gold recovery.
- Work with technical, operational/contractor teams to optimize mining performance, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to standards.
- Review and update mine plans to leverage ongoing exploration, performance, and operational feedback aligning mining operations to annual business objectives and LOM strategy.
- Monitor and analyze mine physicals & costs, identify and drive business improvement projects, and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
- Communicate regularly with senior management and group technical services, providing updates on mine planning activities, production forecasts, and key performance indicators.
- Monitor the performance of the mine planning section, implementing the necessary changes to ensure targets are met.
- Engage with key stakeholders to ensure collaborative delivery of the mining plans.
- Lead, direct and coordinate all planning resources to ensure priorities are set and met and expenditures are within budget.
About You
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree or MA in Mining Engineering, Geology or related field from a recognized institution with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Be in possession of an driver’s license international Driving license is plus.
Required Skills and experience:
- Extensive displayed mining experience with extensive mining open pit engineering exposure, within gold mining desirable
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of developing operationally ready mine designs and schedules, managing engineering workflows, and technical study work.
- Ability to respond quickly to business needs, agile, flexible, continuous learning, innovation and proven ability to experiment on creative business solutions.
- Ability to be inclusive, eagerness for multiple skills, embracing multiple cultures, accepting different approaches and be human-centric and empathetic.
- Results oriented, quality driven, excellence, entrepreneurial abilities, efficient and effective.
Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and Amharic.
- Demonstrated experience in Deswik.CAD, Deswik.Sched, Surpac, (MineSched) and Microsoft Office
- Ability to adapt and change with a growing company, including integration of new projects and operations.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- Strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
