The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice.
Knowledge and skill for basic eye care and ophthalmic nursing procedures are:
- Performing an assortment of duties including applying eye drops, preforming visual test and specialize in maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Extensive understanding of eye terminology anatomy and physiology
- Especially adept at multilevel teamwork and multitasking.
- Astute observational skills.
- Perform specialized vision testing including testing for diabetic patients.
- Obtain medical surgical allergy and anesthesia histories of each patient.
- Provide specialized care for patients with severe visual impairments.
- Start intravenous infusions for tests and eye-related procedures.
- Ensure patients had access to updated information to make informed decisions.
- Provide patients with home care instructions following procedures.
- Work with clinical and management teams to develop care plans.
- Prepare patients with eye drops for intravitreal injections.
- Maintain an updated database of patent information.
- Address questions from patients and family members.

Job Requirements
Educational and Experience:
- BSc nursing 1 year experience
- Level four Nursing 2 years and above
- Experience in ophthalmology clinic is preferable
