The JV DLC will offer a comprehensive range of services for patients, researchers and academicians and will contribute to meet the unmet need of the healthcare system in the country.

Job Overview

The Pathology Director is responsible for the overall management and operation of the pathology Directorate of the Joint Venture Diagnostic Laboratory Center. This role involves overseeing and coordinating all aspects of pathology services, including clinical, anatomic, molecullar and cytopathology investigations. The Director will provide expert leadership, ensuring quality patient care, and fostering a culture of innovation, thereby will contribute to the growth and reputation of the organization. He also ensures the Directorate operates efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Directorate’s strategic and operational plans, aligning them  with the overall goals of the Joint Venture.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation and quantification of reagents for the execution of annual plans by the respective sections.
  • Ensure that inventory and supply management of  reagents, consumables and quality improvement initiatives are properly implemented across all sections of the Directorate.
  • Define, implement and monitor standards of performance for quality improvement activities implemented by all sections of  the Directorate.
  • Ensure that there are sufficient qualified personnel with adequate documented training and experience
  • Ascertain that quality pathology laboratory services are provided to customers by all responsible sections.
  • Oversee the utilization of budget, financial performance, and the overall adequacy of resource allocation for  pathology laboratory activities.
  • Foster a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Directorate.
  • Manage the selection, evaluation, and implementation of new pathology laboratory technologies and methodologies.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of quality control programs.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to provide timely and accurate pathology consultations.
  • Manage all pathology laboratory services.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance programs for pathology laboratory services.
  • Ensure that all pathology laboratory staff are adequately trained and competent.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure the Directorate’s compliance with all relevant quality requirements/standards including those of CAP and Joint Commission International.
  • Support research activities within the Directorate, fostering innovation and advancement in the field of pathology.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions and research organizations to advance scientific knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Director

About You

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Histopathology or Histo-technology.
  • BSc in medical laboratory technology
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory operations, preferably in a diagnostic laboratory setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
