As climate finance rapidly reshapes global investment flows toward a climate-aligned investments and sustainable development financing, ACE Advisors is expanding its capabilities in climate finance and sustainable investment advisory. Thus, by strengthening its internal capacity it will position itself as a trusted partner on climate-related financing, policy advisory, and investment mobilization.

To support this growing portfolio and strengthen its strategic capability, ACE seeks to engage a Principal Advisor – Climate Finance & Sustainable Investment who will serve as the firm’s senior technical authority on climate finance, supporting the design, mobilization, and execution of climate-aligned financing and investment initiatives across ACE’s portfolio.

The Advisor will play a critical role in shaping ACE’s strategic positioning in climate finance, while contributing to high-impact advisory engagements and partnerships across public and private sector clients.

Role Objective

The Principal Advisor will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise on climate finance, supporting ACE to expand its advisory capabilities and investment facilitation work in climate-aligned sectors. The role will contribute to:

  • Strengthening ACE’s thought leadership and market positioning in climate finance
  • Supporting the design and structuring of climate-aligned financing and investment initiatives
  • Integrating sustainable finance approaches across ACE’s advisory engagements

The Advisor will operate as a firm-wide subject matter expert, supporting multiple engagements and representing ACE in high-level discussions on climate finance and sustainable investment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Shaping ACE’s Climate Finance Advisory Capability

  • Serve as ACE’s senior advisor on climate finance and sustainable investment.
  • Contribute to defining the firm’s strategic positioning and service offerings in climate and development finance.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams to ensure integration of climate and sustainability considerations across advisory engagements.
  • Lead the development of analytical frameworks, methodologies, and knowledge products related to climate finance and oversight of Associates.

Drive Strategic Advisory and investment Mobilization

  • Lead the strategic advisory support on climate-aligned financing strategies and investment initiatives.
  • Support the development of bankable investment opportunities and financing solutions in climate-related sectors.
  • Advise on the structuring of innovative financing mechanisms and blended finance approaches.
  • Contribute to the preparation of strategic advisory outputs, policy briefs, and investment frameworks.

Strengthen Partnerships and Market Positioning

  • Build and maintain relationships with government institutions, development partners, climate finance institutions, investors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent ACE in technical discussions, stakeholder engagements, and strategic forums related to climate finance.
  • Leverage sectoral networks and professional relationships to expand ACE’s visibility and trusted advisor positioning in climate finance and sustainable investment.

Contribute to Strategic Growth and Business Development

  • Identify opportunities for new engagements and partnerships in climate finance and sustainable investment.
  • Contribute to proposal development, strategic initiatives, and client engagement efforts aligned with ACE’s growth areas.
  • Utilize professional networks and industry connections to support the attraction of potential clients and advisory opportunities.

Support Knowledge Transfer and Institutional Capacity

  • Facilitate technical discussions, workshops, and knowledge exchanges with clients and stakeholders.
  • Support internal capacity building within ACE to strengthen the firm’s expertise in climate and development finance.
  • Contribute to the development of guidance materials, analytical insights, and learning resources.

DELIVERABLES

  • Strategic advisory outputs related to climate finance and sustainable investment
  • Financing frameworks and investment structuring concepts
  • Policy and analytical reports

REPORTING AND COLLABORATION

The Advisor will work closely with the Managing Partner and senior leadership team, collaborating with ACE project teams and external stakeholders.

About You

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Climate Finance, Development Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of relevant experience in climate finance, development finance, sustainable investment, green growth, or related fields.
  • Extensive and demonstrated experience in policy engagement and stakeholder coordination, including working with government agencies, international institutions, development partners and private investors on climate finance and sustainability policies.
  • Strong understanding of global climate finance architecture and sustainable investment trends and knowledge of Ethiopia’s climate strategies and policies.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing climate financing strategies or green investment strategies including experience with market-based climate mechanisms.
  • Strong project management and resource mobilization experience, including designing and implementing large-scale climate or sustainable development initiatives.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial and policy issues into practical advisory outputs.
  • Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and sound professional judgment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced and team-oriented environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and meetings as required.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications and web-based management information systems.
