About the Job
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the deputy production manager supervises and coordinates all operations in the Preparation Divisions during a shift; ensures the smooth and coherent flow of all production processes of the Division by maintaining process parameters and quality specifications, ensures smooth handover of the shifts
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and coordinates all operations in Preparation Division during his/her shift, including that of technical personnel.
- Ensures that all raw materials and inputs required for the shift have been made available on time.
- Ensures that all production machinery and equipment have been cleaned, and made ready for operation,
- Ensures the smooth and coherent flow of all production processes and that all operations are performed in accordance with set process parameters and quality specifications.
- Inspects the quality of raw materials and inputs, processes, intermediate and final products and takes actions in case of deviations from set standards and specification.
- Ensures that samples for laboratory tests and quality inspections are properly taken.
- Ensures that the necessary remedial measures are immediately taken by the technical team in case of malfunctioning or break down of production machinery and equipment during the shift.
- Ensures that appropriate measures have been taken or solutions given when problems arise during the shit and reports about it to the department or the relevant division head.
- Ensures that hygiene and safety guidelines and procedures are complied to.
- Keeps record of production and technical service performances during the shift and makes sure that they are reported to the department or the relevant division head.
- Ensures the smooth hand over of the operations from one shift to the other.
- Ensure that all problems related to food safety management system is reported to immediate supervisor and Quality personnel.
- Performs any other tasks as required.
About You
Education: B. Sc in Food Technology & Process Engineering or food science and post-harvest technology, processing technology
Work experience: 2 years related work experience
Knowledge of HACCP and ISO 22000 preferred.
