About the Job
  • Implement HHA program initiatives and strategies to address the burden of NCDs (CKD, HTN and DM).
  • Adjust project focus and approach based on lessons learned and experiences.
  • Build and implement a strategic plan to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Lead coordination and collaboration with RHBs, UHEPs/FHTs, and health facilities.
  • Implement a strong Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP)
  • Strengthen the capacity of health facilities in Addis Ababa to deliver HHA-related services and ensure program implementation complies with national standards.
  • Promote the documentation, adoption, and sharing of best practices in program design and implementation.
  • Prepare project work plans for the Addis Ababa region and monitor their execution.
  • Develop and submit program reports to the RHB and PSI.
  • Support the development of subordinates through coaching and periodic performance evaluations.
  • Provide coordination and mentoring support to public health facilities and community- based interventions.
  • Ensure each site has a designated NCD focal person and that they are actively involved in the PMT and DTC.
  • Strengthen the capacity of health facilities to provide NCD (CKD, HTN and DM) services and monitor compliance with national standards.
  • Plan and organize training for health facility staff and HEPs/FHTs.
  • Oversee the patient journey in Addis Ababa, from awareness to screening, diagnosis, treatment, medication access, and adherence, in line with national protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with MOH treatment protocols, processes, and forms at implementation sites.
  • Ensure that focal persons and other key staff are well-informed about the program, its performance, and improvement plans.
  • Ensure the availability of educational materials and M&E tools at the sites and conduct data quality assurance in health facilities.
  • Lead periodic joint supportive supervision and review meetings with the regional health bureau and other stakeholders.
  • Support the family health team to ensure quality service delivery, proper documentation, and effective referral of clients from the community to health facilities.
  • Collaborate with regional health bureaus and town/sub-city health offices for program planning, implementation, and supervision.
  • Ensure the timely and quality submission of reports according to national guidelines via DHIS2.
  • Participate in the regional NCD Technical Working Group.
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive services for diagnosed hypertensive patients.
  • Support the Program Manager and serve as acting lead during their absence.
About You
  • Master’s degree in public health or related fields with four (4) years of demonstrated experience or
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or related fields with six (6) years of demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the health sector, mentoring and supporting public health facilities, both on creating awareness around specific diseases and ensuring that supplies are consistently available, enforcing the use of protocols and guidelines among health providers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities, with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, particularly in budgeting and spreadsheet management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and diverse workstreams efficiently.
