Project title: Strengthening Drought Resilience in Ethiopia (SDR Phase II)

 

Period of project: Approximately 05/2023 – 04/2027

 

Duration of Assignment: 32 months

 

Country: Ethiopia

 

Duty station: The duty station will be in Semera, Afar Regional State.

About You

Qualifications: 

 

Education: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • IT literate (MS Office package in particular Word and Excel), Excel skills must be very prominent.

 

Experience: 

 

  • At least 4 years’ experience, possibly with international projects and/or with NGOs or the private sector. Some experience (not too much) working in a government organization would be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems. Peachtree systems proficiency is highly preferred. Profound knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a major requirement
  • With regard to accounting experience: hands-on experience in payroll accounting, developing & monitoring budgets, managing several bank accounts, drawing up payment vouchers and related processes,
  • With regard to administrative experience: strong knowledge in managing a vehicle fleet of 5 vehicles or more, notably fuel and km monitoring and efficient use of vehicles to avoid unnecessary costs, managing and monitoring drivers, organization of small workshops, hotel bookings, managing and monitoring schedules and supporting launching assignments
  • Proven track record in coordinating logistics for project team and visitors, supervising project drivers, and keeping time schedules /records for drivers /other staff,
  • Coordination of day-to-day administrative project activities with government partners, consultants, and NGOs among others

 

 

Language skills: 

 

  • Profound written and oral English skills are a must requirements
  • Knowledge of Afar language is an added advantage

 

Remuneration:

 

  • Negotiable, as per the institutional scale
