Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position.
Purpose of the Job:
To coordinate projects/grants implemented by EHRC, ensuring timely delivery of project outcomes within budget, and with expected standards of the grant provider and EHRC’s M&E framework.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead on the successful implementation of all project deliverables and develop and manage an implementation timetable for the project, working with the relevant functions to ensure delivery of project targets to a high quality and within the contracted timeframe and budget;
- Plan project activities, relevant functions to ensure detailed project implementation plans (per department) are in place, understood by team members across all departments and effectively implemented as scheduled;
- Track progress against project objectives, ensuring full completion as per project work plans;
- Ensure effective system to monitor and evaluate the quality of project delivery are in place;
- Develop and oversee implementation of comprehensive and cost-effective project visibility and communication strategies, recognizing donor contributions and motivation in addition to other project stakeholders;
- Ensure quality reporting of project achievements and documenting of best practices and lessons learnt in the course of implementation to use them for future/new project design process;
- Coordinate the proposal and concept note development process by carrying out human rights situation assessment and identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying calls for proposals (CFP’s), and sharing information with responsible departments;
- Work closely with Finance and Admin team to ensure adequate support is provided to support the project delivery;
- Serve as a budget holder and be responsible management of project budget, including monitoring expenditure against budget lines and ensuring funds are properly utilized in meeting project objectives;
- Lead the capacity development of EHRC team members on donor regulations;
- Coordinate preparation of reports to relevant actors including donors;
- Represent the Commission in external meetings related with projects based on the supervisor’s approval;
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Salary Range: Gross monthly salary of ETB 25,756.00 – ETB 30,676.00 plus ETB 12,000.00 Housing allowance and ETB 3,300.00 Transport allowance, depending on candidates qualification, experience and earning history
About You
Qualifications and Experience:
- LLM/MA/LLB Degree in Law, International Law, Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Social Studies, Project Management, or related fields.
- 8 years of relevant experience for LLB/BA and 6 years of relevant experience for LLM/MA with at least 2 years of project management experience.
- Previous experience managing and/or implementing donor-funded projects.
- Proven project management skills, including planning, budget management, monitoring and evaluation and reporting, and management of resources
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of major donor regulations
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of Amharic and English is required
- Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.
