Job Description
Company intro:
- Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with state financial legal requirements and donor/organization guidelines,
- Manage accounting files/ vouchers for the Head Office and branches under the business wing.
- Perform bank and cash reconciliations, ensure timely coding and posting of accounting transactions and advising management for proper actions on related issues identified, if any,
- Ensures compliance of budgetary and internal control procedures
- Prepare vouchers for Cash and Bank payments (cheques, CPOs and transfer letters)
- Ensure completeness and correctness of documents before any payment is made,
- Scan financial vouchers on monthly basis,
- Controlling the petty cash every time and making surprise cash counts.
- Update daily the accounting software (Peachtree),
- Preparing inputs for quarterly and monthly financial reports.
- Prepare all the due documents for annual financial audit, support the junior finance officer in preparing all the documents needed for the audit process,
- Keep relationships with donors, banks, suppliers and local authorities’ offices,
- Prepare payrolls monthly and report Tax and pension on regular basis (Monthly and Quarterly).
- Fee collection follow-up, staff advance follow up,
- Record the transactions for the Business wing (Succoth PLC)
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements,
- Any other duties assigned by the management.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years for MA /5 Years for BA as Finance Officer, Accountant, Disbursement Officer.
- Familiar with the IFRS/IPSAS standards (Certificate on IFRS/IPSAS is an Asset)
- Prior Knowledge of Automated Accounting system like Peachtree.
- Knowledge of leading department and related management experience
- Quick learner; willing to learn to accomplish new tasks.
- Ability to interact & professionally represent the Foundation to external parties.
- Planning, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Good written and oral communication skill
- Proficiency in English and preferably one or more East African language/s
- Works with perfect harmony with other work units of the Foundation
- Ability to work with data from different sources and draw logical and meaningful conclusions.
- Ability to multitask and monitor several projects daily.
- Being proactive and willing to take initiative.
- Knowledge of various computer software packages.
- Ability to carry out administrative or staff assignments and present them in writing or verbal format.
- Ability to share technical ideas and concepts with public and non-technical personnel.
- Good judgment, planning and strategy making skills.
- Ability to manage, lead, participate and schedule multiple activities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
