LIYANA HEALTH CARE PLC would like to recruit potential candidates for the position of Senior Accountant to assign at Yanet General Hospital – Addis Ababa.

About the Role
Senior accountant has a wide range of responsibilities that revolve around managing the financial aspects of Liyana healthcare PLC. From financial reporting and analysis to budgeting and compliance, his/her role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial information, supporting decision-making processes, and maintaining the financial health of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Generating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements and submitting to business unit finance head for verification/approval
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in the budgeting process.
- Work closely with finance head and other department heads /executives to develop realistic budgets based on historical data, industry trends, and organizational goals.
- Assist finance head on forecasting future financial outcomes
- Identify potential risks or opportunities.
Financial Analysis
- Analyzing revenue and expense patterns
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Evaluating the efficiency of financial processes.
- Perform variance analysis to compare actual results against budgeted figures and investigate any discrepancies.
Compliance and Audit
- Ensure financial report compliance with accounting standards such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Collaborate with internal or external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation and address any audit findings.
Revenue Cycle Management
- Play crucial role in monitoring and analyzing the revenue cycle, ensuring accurate billing and coding practices
- Identifying areas for improvement to optimize revenue collection.
Financial Systems and Controls
- Maintaining and improving financial systems and controls within the organization.
- Ensuring daily task accomplishment with in finance department.
- Ensure that accounting software is properly utilized
- Oversee data integrity, and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
- Provide training to staff members on financial procedures and policies.
Financial Planning and Strategy
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist on evaluating the financial feasibility of new projects or investments.
Team Management
- Assigning tasks, providing guidance and training, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

About You
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from recognized University/College.
- Proven experience as a senior accountant for 4 years & above.
- Private Health institution and factory experience is advantageous.
- Peachtree accounting and IFRS trainings-based experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and experience in implementing quality management systems.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in health care industry
- Proficiency in using computer software for production planning, inventory management, and data analysis.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
