Job Summary
Manage the General Ledger in SAP to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records, while supporting statutory reporting, audits, and compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in SAP FI.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes using SAP Closing Cockpit or standard procedures.
- Review, validate, and post journal entries in SAP, ensuring all entries are supported with appropriate documentation.
Accounts Reconciliation & Analysis
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations using SAP and Excel reports.
- Analyze general ledger accounts, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary SAP-based documentation and account analysis.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies, tax regulations, and statutory financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor adherence to financial policies across departments and escalate instances of non-compliance.
- Facilitate audit trails and internal controls through proper SAP documentation and traceability.
Process Improvement & SAP Utilization
- Participate in the design, testing, and implementation of improvements to SAP FI-related processes and workflows.
- Provide SAP FI system support and user training to junior staff and finance team members.
- Liaise with IT/ERP teams to implement configuration changes, system enhancements, and issue resolutions.
Team Support & Collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with AP, AR, Treasury, Tax, and Costing teams to ensure accurate and consistent data flow within SAP.
- Work closely with the Tax team to ensure alignment of GL postings with tax compliance requirements and to support timely audit and filing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA is an advantage)
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience working in SAP System is required
- Proven track record in managing financial closes and statutory reporting
- Experience in manufacturing/FMCG industry preferred
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS)
- Advanced proficiency in SAP FI
- Analytical thinking: Ability to interpret complex financial data, identify discrepancies, and suggest corrective actions.
- Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Problem-solving and process improvement orientation
- Effective communication: Clear and professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders; able to explain financial data to non-finance teams.
- Advanced Microsoft excel skill: Strong command of pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools
