Purpose of the Job:
To produce precision parts and instruments by setting up and operating machine tools using the right equipment, techniques and tools in mechanical workshop
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate machines to make metallic and plastic work pieces.
- Produce machine parts as per the specifications using machine tools.
- Measure, examine and test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information to determine methods needed to produce parts.
- Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
- Check equipment to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
- Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments and repairs.
- Layout, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
About You
Qualification and Experience:
- Diploma or Level IV in Machine Operation or Electrician or related fields with three (3) years of direct related experience.
Or
- Certificate in Level III or Level II in Machine Operation or Electrician or GMFA or related fields with Six (6) years of direct experience in the field preferably COC Certified.
