Position Overview: The Senior Network and Application Support Officer is responsible for providing high-level support and maintenance for the company’s network and application systems. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving network issues, ensuring optimal performance of applications, and providing guidance to junior support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Support and Maintenance:
    • Monitor, manage, and maintain the company’s network infrastructure.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
    • Configure and install network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining security protocols.
  2. Application Support:
    • Provide technical support for business applications, ensuring they are running efficiently.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues reported by users.
    • Collaborate with application developers and vendors to resolve complex issues.
    • Assist with the deployment of new applications and updates.
  3. System Monitoring and Performance:
    • Monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability.
    • Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning.
    • Implement and maintain monitoring tools to proactively identify issues.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations and application setups.
    • Prepare regular reports on system performance and incidents.
    • Document troubleshooting processes and solutions for future reference.
  5. User Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving IT-related issues.
    • Conduct training sessions for users on new applications and systems.
    • Develop user guides and documentation for reference.
  6. Team Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior network and application support staff.
    • Collaborate with IT team members to ensure seamless operations.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall IT strategy.

About You

Requirements:

  1. Education and Experience:
    • BSC’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network and application support roles.
  2. Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols.
    • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting business applications.
    • Experience with network security and data protection measures.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  3. Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with network management tools and software.
    • Experience with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
    • Familiarity with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
    • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
  4. Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or equivalent are preferred.
  5. Other Requirements:
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Willingness to work outside regular business hours when necessary.
