About the Job

Purpose of the Position

Shift Mechanical Technician II   is responsible for execution of all mechanical maintenance tasks of Packaging machines independently under his shift; follows up condition of machines and handles breakdown maintenance activities in his shift.

Result areas responsibilities

  • Execute all types of mechanical maintenance of all packaging machines.
  • Execute Preventive Maintenance activities of routine cleaning, lubrication, inspections and tightening of machines as necessary.
  • Monitor basic condition of machines during shift production to ensure smooth operation.
  • Provide quick solutions to mechanical issues of machines during the shift operation.
  • Identify and communicates any abnormal condition that has potential to cause long stoppages of production.
  • Write detail reports on maintenance activities done in his shift.
  • Respond to break down of machines and executes all required maintenance as fast as possible.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions and actively participate in RCFA to find out root cause of failures.
  • Follow up proper safety procedures during maintenance tasks
  • Ensure that work area is safe for self, colleagues and machines.
  • Contribute their role in the implementation of the QSHE Management System (Understand and Comply with the QSHE policy, and objectives, follow the procedure and work instructions, and properly document the records)
  • Report to the responsible body when policies/procedures are violated or any other issues which have an impact on QSHE Management System.

 

About You

  • TVET Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the beverage or manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
