Dodai Manufacturing PLC is a fast-growing organization launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on August 1, 2023. With a mission to make urban e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa, Dodai assembles electric two-wheelers locally and is building a citywide battery swapping network to support riders across Ethiopia. As part of this rapid expansion, Dodai is working to deploy 40 battery swapping sites with dedicated Dodai-owned transformers within the next 8 months, starting in Addis Ababa and Sheger City. Purpose of the Position

The Battery Swapping Site Scouter is responsible for identifying and sourcing high-potential locations for Dodai battery swapping stations across Addis Ababa and Sheger City. The role focuses on rapid field scouting and early-stage site validation, ensuring that potential locations meet Dodai’s technical, operational, and commercial site selection criteria, including suitability for installing dedicated electrical infrastructure where required. The Scouter plays a critical role in supporting Dodai’s goal of deploying 40 battery swapping sites within 8 months by maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified locations and presenting ready-to-review site opportunities to the Supervisor. Success in this role is measured by the number of qualified sites sourced, the speed of identifying potential locations, and the quality of sites that progress to acquisition and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential sites for battery swapping stations across Addis Ababa City Administration and Sheger City Administration.
• Evaluate locations against the site selection criteria provided by Dodai.
• Assess basic site feasibility, including space availability, accessibility, and suitability for electrical infrastructure installation.
• Engage with property owners and landlords to introduce Dodai’s concept.
• Collect and submit preliminary site information and documentation.
• Maintain a pipeline of potential locations for review by the Supervisor.
• Coordinate site visits with the Supervisor and internal teams.
• Prepare basic reports on scouted sites and progress.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Architecture & Urban Planning, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in field-based roles such as site scouting, real estate, sales, or operations.
• Physically fit and able to travel extensively across the city for field scouting and site visits.
• Good knowledge of Addis Ababa and Sheger city areas.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and conduct field visits regularly.
• Ability to use Whatsapp and other communication tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in real estate, telecom tower site acquisition, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience working in a startup or fast-growing environment.
• Basic reporting and documentation skills using tools such as Excel or Google Sheets.
