Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands on Local Site Manager to oversee the mechanical and electrical installation activities for the National Bank of Ethiopia Project. This role requires a permanent presence at one of the designated project sites (Dire Dawa, Hawassa, Bahirdar, or Wolayta Sodo) for approximately 36+ months, starting two months before installation. The ideal candidate is a proactive, technically skilled leader with expertise in mechanical and electrical installations, capable of managing logistics, on site operations, and coordination with contractors, suppliers, and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical and electrical installation activities on-site. Manage logistics including staff transport, food, and water supply.
• Handle deliveries, damage reports, and proof-of-delivery documentation. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Support the Head of Project Ethiopia and external implementation team. Participate in site meetings and maintain detailed records and reports. Oversee storage, materials, and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure readiness of site access, forklifts, and intermediate storage. Track and control spare parts, tools, and rental equipment.
• Maintain safety standards, first aid availability, and emergency readiness. Monitor site staff attendance, movements, and schedules.
• Manage transport services and coordinate drivers.
• Maintain close coordination with the project and HQ administrative teams.

Requirements

• Preferably an Ethiopian citizen or long-term resident with strong local knowledge. Technical or Engineering diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or
• Maintenance Management preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of operational experience in managing construction or implementation sites.
• Familiarity with FIDIC Yellow Book 2017 contract implementation is an advantage.
• Proven experience adhering to project schedules and site management protocols.
• Strong English communication skills with good reporting and documentation ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MS Project for project tracking. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically between project locations.
• Physical capability for light to moderate lifting and consistent presence on construction sites.
• Experience in logistics operations is highly desirable.
