Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Store Keeper with specific experience in industrial materials handling for steel production. You will manage the inventory of critical consumables and spare parts used in the melting, casting, and CCM processes, ensuring that the production line never stops due to a lack of supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and organize inventory specifically for the Melting and Casting departments (e.g., Ferro-alloys, Graphite electrodes, Refractories).
- Monitor stock levels for Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) spares such as copper molds, spray nozzles, and rollers.
- Oversee the safe storage and handling of hazardous or temperature-sensitive industrial materials.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quality and quantity against Purchase Orders, and update the Bin Cards/ERP system.
- Issue materials to the production team based on authorized requisitions.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly physical stock counts to ensure zero discrepancy.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a Technical field (General Mechanics background is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Store Keeper in a heavy manufacturing environment, specifically within a steel mill or foundry.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Must be familiar with steel-making consumables: Refractory bricks, Lancing pipes, CCM mold powder, and Ferro-silicon/Ferro-manganese.
- Understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for chemical handling.
- Skills: * Proficiency in inventory management software (ERP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean, “5S” compliant warehouse.
