Reach for Change, a non-profit organization founded in Sweden in 2010, has been supporting social entrepreneurs and improving the ecosystem for social entrepreneurship. Over the past decade, Reach for Change has supported over 2,000 Change Leaders across 18 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia, positively impacting 4.7 million children and youth. In 2023, Reach for Change partnered with the Mastercard Foundation to launch the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship in Ethiopia. This 3-year catalytic acceleration program is designed to bridge the education gap for underserved young people in Ethiopia. The program supports the scaling of three cohorts, each comprising 12 EdTech enterprises, targeting initiatives that enhance inclusive learning in Ethiopia. As part of our communications strategy, we aim to amplify the impact of these
solutions by featuring the EdTech Fellows on a prominent podcast platform that offers engaging conversations and educational content.

Objective

The primary objective of this initiative is to leverage the reach and influence of a reputable podcast platform to showcase the stories, challenges, and successes of the
Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellows. Through creative and engaging podcast episodes, we aim to:

● Highlight the impact and innovation brought by the EdTech Fellows.
● Inspire a wider audience, including potential investors, educators, policymakers, and the general public.
● Raise awareness about the importance of inclusive and accessible education in Ethiopia.
● Foster connections and networks that can support the growth and sustainability of EdTech initiatives.

Scope of Work

The podcast series will encompass the following key activities:

Episode Content

● Feature Interviews: Each episode will spotlight an individual EdTech Fellow, exploring their entrepreneurial journey, the educational challenges their solution addresses, the impact achieved, and their vision for the future.

Creative Segments

● Inspiring Stories: Incorporate narratives from beneficiaries whose lives have been positively impacted by the fellows’ solutions, demonstrating real-world outcomes.
● Resource Segments: Provide practical tips and tools for educators and parents on integrating EdTech solutions into learning environments effectively.
● Panel Discussions: Host conversations with EdTech experts, investors, educators, and other stakeholders to delve into broader themes and trends within the EdTech ecosystem in Ethiopia and beyond.
● Live Recording Sessions: Organize live recording events featuring select fellows, facilitating real-time audience engagement and interaction.
● Promotional Campaigns: Develop and implement targeted social media and marketing campaigns to promote the podcast episodes and expand audience reach.

About You

Responsibilities of the Podcast Partner

The selected podcast partner will be responsible for the following:

 Content Production

● Development and Production: Create high-quality podcast episodes featuring the EdTech Fellows, including planning, scripting, recording, editing, and final production.
● Quality Assurance: Ensure that all content is professionally produced ,engaging, and aligns with the communication objectives of Reach for Change and the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship.

Creative Strategy

● Strategic Planning: Design and execute a creative strategy that effectively tells the stories of the EdTech Fellows and resonates with the target audience.
● Innovative Formats: Utilize diverse and innovative storytelling formats to keep the content fresh and engaging across all episodes.

Audience Engagement

● Analytics and Feedback: Use analytics tools to monitor listener engagement, gather feedback, and make data-driven improvements to the content and delivery.
● Community Building: Engage with listeners through interactive elements such as Q&A sessions, social media interactions, and listener surveys to build a community around the podcast series.

Cross-Platform Promotion

● Marketing Efforts: Promote the podcast episodes across various channels, including social media platforms, email newsletters, and relevant online communities to maximize reach and impact.
● Collaborative Promotions: Work collaboratively with Reach for Change to leverage both organizations’ networks and platforms for enhanced visibility.

Delivery

● Timely Execution: Ensure all deliverables are completed according to the agreed-upon timeline and meet the quality standards set forth in this TOR.

Collaboration and Support

A close collaborative relationship between Reach for Change and the podcast partner is essential for the success of this initiative. This collaboration will include:

Content Planning Meetings

● Regular Coordination: Hold regular meetings every two weeks to plan and align on episode content, messaging, and creative direction. Each meeting is expected to last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
● Resource Sharing: Exchange relevant information, materials, and contacts necessary for comprehensive and authentic storytelling.

Co-Hosted Events

● Joint Events: Collaborate on hosting live recording sessions, webinars, or panel discussions to engage audiences and stakeholders more interactively.
● Event Planning: Coordinate on the planning and execution of events, including logistics, participant engagement, and post-event follow-ups.

Duration of Collaboration/timeline

The collaboration is expected to span 2 months, with the following phases:
● Preparation and Planning: 2 weeks
● Content Production and Recording: 1 month
● Post-Production and Editing: 1 week
● Promotion and Distribution: Ongoing throughout the 2 month period. There is an option to extend the collaboration based on mutual agreement and the success of the initial series.

Submission of Technical and Financial Proposals

Interested podcast partners are required to submit the following:

Technical Proposal

● Approach and Methodology: Outline the proposed creative approach, storytelling methods, and strategies for audience engagement.
● Content Production Plan: Provide a detailed plan covering episode topics, formats, guest coordination, and production schedules.
● Team Composition: Introduce the team involved in the project, highlighting relevant experience and expertise.

Financial Proposal

● Budget Breakdown: Present a comprehensive budget detailing costs associated with content production, live events, promotional activities, and any other relevant expenses.
● Payment Schedule: Propose a payment schedule aligned with key deliverables and milestones

Budget Considerations

The budget should account for:
● Content Production: Expenses related to planning, recording, editing, and producing each podcast episode.
● Live Events: Costs associated with organizing and executing live recording sessions and webinars, including venue, equipment, and staffing.
● Promotional Activities: Funds allocated for marketing efforts across various platforms, including social media advertising, content creation, and engagement strategies.
● Administrative Costs: Any additional costs required for successful project management and coordination.

Deliverables
