About ASDEPO:

Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) is an Ethiopian indigenous, “Civil Society Organization” established in 2014. ASDEPO is mandated to operate in all regional states of the country and is engaged indifferent thematic program areas of intervention namely: Humanitarian Response, Education, Health/HIV and AIDS/RH, Women and Youth Economic Empowerment, Gender Based Violence and Child Protection, Migration/Human Trafficking, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (Wash), NTD’s Climate Change, Agriculture, Environmental Protection and Training in Gambella, Oromiya, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, Afar, SNNPR and Somali Region.

Job Description 

  • Create plans and initiatives to address environmental challenges and promote ecosystem resilience.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of natural resource management plans.
  • Conduct socio-economic assessments to understand the livelihood needs and priorities of local communities.
  • Develop and implement livelihood enhancement programs that are environmentally sustainable and economically viable.
  • Provide training and support to community members on sustainable livelihood practices, income generation, and entrepreneurship.
  • Facilitate the formation of community-based organizations and cooperatives to support livelihood initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with local communities, government agencies, other NGOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and training sessions to raise awareness and promote community participation.
  • Collaborate with community leaders and organizations to ensure their involvement in decision-making processes related to natural resource management and livelihood initiatives.
  • Advocate for the rights and interests of local communities in relevant forums and platforms.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness and impact of natural resource management and livelihood programs.
  • Regularly collect and analyze data on key indicators to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on program activities, outcomes, and recommendations for future interventions.
  • Takes the appropriate care for all properties of ASDEPO at all moments.
  • Follows activities during joint and post distribution monitoring periods.
  • Reports all activities performed by him/her in time.
  • Performs all assignments and activities given to him by the Zonal Project Coordinator and ASDEPO Head Quarter Staff.

About You

Qualification:

  • BSc degree in natural Resource Management, Disaster and risk management and Rural Development and other related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years and above of work experience BSc degree in natural Resource Management, Disaster and risk management and Rural Development and other related fields
