About the Job
This is a full-time position based in Nguenyyiel camp and surrounding areas, Gambella, Ethiopia. Travel to additional CVT field centers as necessary. The position holders will report to the physiotherapists/trainers clinically and to the Area manager administratively.
The physiotherapist will have the following major duties and responsibilities, among others:
Essential functions include [but are not limited to]:
- Attend, participate in, and utilize material covered in intensive initial and ongoing trainings.
- Provide trauma-informed physiotherapy services to refugees, IDPs and host communities.
- Provide assessment and individual and group physiotherapy sessions as assigned by the Physiotherapist/Trainer
- Complete quarterly reports, progress notes, and treatment plans on time.
- Sensitize, solve problems, dialogue, and mediate with the wider population about issues of war, torture, trauma, and SGBV.
- Expected to become proficient with CVT’s data collection tools and conduct and submit assessments and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work closely with the database staff to ensure quality reporting.
- Act as a cultural and linguistic interpreter, providing interpretation between clients and other CVT staff members and assisting with translating written material when needed.
- Take responsibility for maintaining professional development by keeping up to date with evidence-based practice for managing CVT clients.
- Assist in the daily clinical operations to ensure clients are given appointments in a timely manner, group work activities and room designation are scheduled and coordinated fairly, equipment is shared and organized appropriately, and clients follow other CVT client procedures.
- Assist in designing, planning, implementing, and facilitating external trainings for numerous target groups.
- Ensure the cleanliness of treatment spaces and equipment used with clients, as well as maintain a clean, professional appearance.
- Develop new and strengthen existing referral systems with other organizations in Nguenyyiel Gambela and liaise with other stakeholders and partner organizations as deemed necessary.
- Engage in quality self-care through supervision, debriefings, and other shared sessions.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical records and statistical data and ensure that all required documentation is completed and stored in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that all work with clients observes CVT’s confidentiality policies and that ethical practices are observed at all times and are in accordance with the World Physiotherapy Standards.
- Attend all regularly scheduled trainings and meetings necessary for professional development and team coordination, and upon request.
- Assist with any other related activities as deemed necessary by the physiotherapist/trainer.

About You
Educational Qualification:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy
Experience and Skill Required
- Must have 4-year experience in similar settings in an international NGO (experience working with children is desirable).
- Must be fluent in English, Nuer, Amharic and Anyuak written and spoken.
- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including empathic listening.
- Ability to communicate in a highly professional manner with clients, community members, colleagues, and professional partners
- Able to work independently, self-motivated
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality

- Has current practice license by Ethiopian physiotherapist association

Terms of Employment: The contract is effective from 1st February 2025 through August 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
