Health Development and Anti Malaria Association (HDAMA), has been re-registered with Proclamation No. 1113/2009 as not for profit, nongovernmental and local organization committed to prevent and control the spread of malaria, HIV/AIDs, climate related and communicable diseases, and reproductive health problems.

Job Summary:

The Accountant will support financial operations for Last Mile Delivery services focused on reaching vulnerable and high-risk areas. This role ensures accurate financial tracking, accountability, and compliance while enabling efficient and transparent resource utilization in challenging operating environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for last mile delivery operations, including transportation, logistics, and distribution costs.
  • Monitor and track expenditures related to service delivery in remote, underserved, and high-risk locations.
  • Prepare timely financial reports, including budget vs. actual analyses, to support decision-making.
  • Ensure proper documentation and verification of expenses incurred in difficult-to-access areas.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for delivery programs targeting vulnerable populations.
  • Reconcile accounts, including cash, bank, and field advances, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Strengthen internal controls to mitigate financial risks associated with operations in insecure or resource-constrained settings.
  • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to align financial processes with on-the-ground realities.
  • Facilitate audits by maintaining organized and transparent financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and local regulations.
  • Perform other Accounting related tasks as needed and as requested

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work with incomplete or delayed data from remote or high-risk areas.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accountability and transparency.

About You

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project accounting or financial management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • knowledge of Peachtree, Quick book and Microsoft Excel.
  • Upholds HDAMA’s Code of Conduct, PSEAH Policy, Gender Strategy, and other key organizational policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Four (4) years relevant experience in the NGO setup.
