The Consortium of Christian Relief & Development Association (CCRDA) is looking for a highly motivated professional to fill the following post.                                

Job Summary

CCRDA is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our organization as an Accountant, who is responsible for all postings, recording, balancing, and documentation and processing of accounting transaction. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. The incumbent ensures that all financial transactions are compliant with existing laws, donor regulations and internal policies.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions.
  • Collects credit and debit bank advises bank statements and makes bank reconciliation.
  • Initiates payment for employee income tax, rent income tax, deposit of provident fund, loan repayment, etc.
  • Prepares termination payments when staff are separated.
  • Prepares adjusting entries.
  • Enters data every day into the accounting software and produces monthly trial balance and other financial statements.
  • Ascertains that petty cash or any other fund is available and proper report is furnished for replacement.
  • Tracks and chases outstanding receipts.
  • Maintains complete records of monthly payroll information.
  • Ensures that all financial transactions are compliant with existing laws, donor regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintains proper filing system for financial documents.
  • Follows up and ensures that travel and work advances are settled on time.
  • Assist in the coordination of year end audit.
  • Keep in safe custody all unused receipt pads and check books.
  • Participates in inventory taking as and when required.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.

Report to: Director, Financial Management Team

Terms of Employment: One year with a possibility of extension based on proven performance.

Place of work:   Addis Ababa with frequent travel indifferent parts of the country

Salary:  As per CCRDA scale with benefit packages

About You

Education

Required – MA/BA in Finance, Accounting, or other related field of study.

Experience                                                                      

Minimum of 4 years related work experience.

Additional requirement 

  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
    • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
    • Familiarity with accounting software and programs especially QuickBooks.
    • Good interpersonal skills & English language proficiency.
    • Committed to CCRDA’s Vision, Mission, core values & safeguarding policy.

NGO experience is an advantage.
