The Carter Center – Ethiopia, which assists the Government of Ethiopia in Disease Elimination and Eradication Programs is looking for a qualified professional to fill the following Admin/HR Officer post for its health program:

Summary Job Description:  

  • Closely works with HR and Regional Management for recruiting, screening, and interviewing the best candidates.
  • Participates in conducting orientations of a new employee.
  • Supervises the workplaces of the staff and ensures that they are safe for the employees.
  • Educating staff on policies, including the penalties for violations. She/he is also responsible for handling complaints and violations, including delivering punishments.
  • Tracks employees’ performance appraisals are filled out and reviewed by his/her supervisor using the performance management tools.
  • Participates in career planning, guidance, and development for employees.
  • Facilitates pensions and benefits administration.
  • Facilitates Employees request like loans and work experience letters
  • Record and follow employee’s annual leave utilization.
  • Work with the Regional Manager and supervisors on monitoring staff performance and attendance.
  • Update the staff list monthly and report to supervisors.
  • Facilitates employees’ ID and insurance updates and renewal.
  • Collect/submit medical claims from/to Employee/Insurance companies and facilitate the refunds.
  • Supports managers and employees through a variety of tasks such as drafting letters.
  • Document the outgoing & incoming letters/ other files as appropriate.
  • Book/manage Air tickets for TCCE staff, government officials, and visitors.
  •  Hotel arrangements for events and accommodation for TCCE staff and visitors.
  • Ensures the proper handling of office equipment (new and used) and machines and maintains supplies inventory annually, and reports to the country office.
  • Handling office and equipment maintenance and servicing.
  • Follow and monitor the performance of office assistants and security guards.
  • Handles all the routine and clerical work.
  • Facilitate utility payments (internet, dongles, electricity, water usage….)
  • Participate as a committee member in goods and service purchases.
  • Performs other activities as instructed by the supervisor.

About You

Qualification:            MBA/MA degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management or relevant field of study.

Experience:                Relevant experience of a minimum of five years in an office administrative role and human resource management preferably in the non-profit                                         sector.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and attention to detail.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Recommendation letter from the most recent employer.
