Job Description

KAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU Vehicle in Ethiopia. It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Body Shop Service Advisor/Estimator position.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for assessing claim application to determine whether it is genuine or not, checks for facts, verifies the details of the reported damage, and report the right assessment of the damage to the insurer for processing the claim, while maintaining the company policy, procedure, and the insurer’s guidelines.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the process of developing insurance assessment policy and procedure manual.
  • Develop insurance forms to indicate repair cost or cost estimates and recommendations for the insurer company.
  • Prepare contracts or other transaction documents as required.
  • Undertake survey and assess vehicle damage to determine repair costs for insurance claim settlement.
  • Provide estimation of parts and labor to repair damage based on cost manuals and in consultation with repair technicians.
  • Review repair cost estimates with automobile repair shop to secure agreement on cost of repairs.
  • Examine damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural, body, mechanical, electrical, or interior damage to prepare damage report accordingly.
  • Determine salvage value on total-loss vehicle.
  • Ensure that customers are fully satisfied with the response they receive for their claim application.
  • Prepare periodic reports for submission to the Body Shop Controller.

Job Requirements

Required Number           :  1(One)

Qualification                    :  BSc in Automotive, or Mechanical Engineering;

Work Experience            :  6 years in relevant role

Required Competence    :

  • Communication – both verbal and written
  • Computer literate
  • Networking, conversation ability, and interpersonal skill
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Good knowledge of insurance
  • Working relationship with insurance companies
