Job Summary

Responsible for planning, implementing, FH CSAFE Policy at the AP level and ensuring that any risk is timely captured and addressed.

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the rollout of the current C-SAFE operational manual through participation of the program team and the communities where FH Ethiopia works.
  2. Understand and identify locally appropriate, user-friendly and culturally sensitive communication channels for feedback at the project level.
  3. Establish detailed work plans at the project levels for the rollout of C-SAFE, at the project level and ensure that set out processes, procedures and forms are consistently used at the project level.
  4. Continuously communicate Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) material (sensitization materials) for the project staff and Donor/FH’s key messages for the community during food distribution.
  5. Continuously report operational work plans for the rollout of C-SAFE including processes and procedures of the project to the Country Advisor.
  6. Work closely with the local MEL staff to analyze trends in feedback received at the project level and continuously report to the project coordinator.
  7. Together with the project program teams, conduct C-SAFE assessments and evaluations, and follow up on the progress of feedback throughout the project implementation.
  8. Provide periodic reports to the project coordinator regarding the status of and updates regarding project level C-SAFE cases.
  9. Conduct community orientation sessions on C-SAFE and their roles and responsibilities toward a successful implementation of accountability and reporting mechanism.
  10. In collaboration with human resources (HR), conduct C-SAFE training and orientation at the project level.
  11. Work closely with all concerned government experts at Zone as well as Woreda level.
  12. Strengthen the complaint feedback mechanism at all food distribution points, ensure feedbacks are well communicated and documented
  13. Provide technical support for all emergency Response Officer, Data Clerk and Commodity distributors in order to ensure the beneficiaries are well listened and their feedback are responded timely.
  14. Other duties assigned by the project coordinator.

⮚ Observe if women staff are as involved as men in high-profile activities such as interaction with visitors and chairing meetings, and take corrective action if warranted.

⮚ Encourage female staff to participate in external networks (local and regional), as well as seminars and cross visits.

⮚ Facilitate open and regular discussions with staff on about the work environment, policies, and values convenient to gender issues.

Safety & Security Responsibility

⮚ Encourages compliance of Safety and Security principles and policies of the organization by all staffs;

⮚ Visiting project Offices and operational areas periodically to meet staff and making sure that all staff members are aware of the safety and security procedures;

⮚ Explains to staffs the reasoning behind the organization’s safety and security policies and procedures

⮚ Organizing local training sessions, such as First Aid, Fire Safety, and Defensive Driving for staff members. If possible, he/she should conduct briefing and training sessions himself/herself;

⮚ Ensures that safety and security objectives are added to performance reviews and evaluations of all staff members;

⮚ Encourages staffs to adopt safe and secure practices. Ensuring that updated personnel information related to safety (Record of Emergency Data) and security management are kept in Human resources.

About You

Experience

⮚   Minimum of three years related experience and  preferably in a similar program or INGO.

Education/Certifications

⮚ Degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Natural Resource management, Psychology or other related fields

⮚ Training/ Prior experience in community reporting,
