Job Summary
The Credit and Portfolio Analysis Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s credit risk management framework and loan portfolio performance. The position involves developing and implementing credit policies and risk assessment methodologies, monitoring portfolio quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic guidance to support sound lending decisions and sustainable portfolio growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate branch activities related to credit operations and prudent risk management practices.
- Lead the analysis and evaluation of loan applications and approve loans within delegated authority limits.
- Develop and implement credit risk assessment methodologies, credit policies, and lending guidelines.
- Monitor the quality and performance of the loan portfolio, including delinquency trends and non-performing loans.
- Identify emerging credit risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with branches and other departments to ensure effective credit operations and accurate reporting.
- Provide technical support and training to branch staff on credit-related matters.
Qualification and Experience
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or related fields.
- Minimum of 10/9 years of relevant Microfinance or Banking experience, of which 4 years should be in a managerial or supervisory position in credit and portfolio management.
