The Curriculum Lead for the Pearson curriculum is responsible for overseeing the effective planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of Pearson Edexcel programs across all key stages. This role involves guiding subject teachers in aligning their instruction with curriculum standards, ensuring coherence and academic rigor, and supporting assessment preparation including Checkpoint, IGCSE, and A-Level exams. The Curriculum Lead provides instructional leadership, conducts lesson observations, facilitates professional development, and fosters a culture of high expectations and reflective practice. They also collaborate with school leadership to monitor student achievement, recommend curriculum enhancements, and ensure compliance with Pearson’s academic requirements.
The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (a master’s degree is preferred) and have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or curriculum coordination role. Strong knowledge of the Pearson Edexcel curriculum, including Checkpoint, IGCSE, and A-Level programs, is essential. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in curriculum planning, instructional supervision, and assessment practices. Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills are required, along with proficiency in using educational technology and data to drive improvement. A proven track record of supporting teacher development and raising academic standards is highly desirable.
