About the Job

To ensure effectiveness of Integrated multi-sectoral response for conflict affected community in Nedjo district in meeting the need of the target beneficiaries. Manage and drive WVE vehicles to which he is assigned to in accordance with local laws and FM policy relative to the use of the WVE vehicles and as specified by supervisor. Inspect the vehicle before and after a journey to ensure that it is in a good condition in order to minimize wear and tear of the vehicle

Timely prepare and submit vehicle performance reports after each journey.

Ensure that all vehicle movements are recorded in the vehicle log- book, and Fuel consumption records on a regular basis, take cautions measures on keeping original keys, tools, and reserve tires. Perform minor repairs & maintenance and spring-cleaning of the vehicle which is assigned to him and return used Tyre for assigned staff while new Tyre is changed. Maintain drivability of vehicles and supplies of all essential equipment of the vehicle. Identify vehicle faults, promptly report to the supervisor and advice on appropriate repairs and services as necessary. Consistently monitor vehicle performance, submit maintenance request or advice timely and follow-up accomplishments. Verify records of all work done on each vehicle and on the respective job cards.

Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained.

  • Deliver full range transport service for organization use to ensure safe, reliable fleet to help in work on customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
  • Observe prescribed work, safety rules and respond to service calls.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs / service: Service vehicles according to established preventive maintenance schedule. Rotate and change tires; change oil and filters; grease vehicle parts; inspect and replace bulbs, and top up all fluid levels
  • Maintain accurate, updated records of preventive maintenance in adherence to FM policy
  • Inspect vehicles regularly, evaluate condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and light and reports any mechanical problems of vehicle to supervisor for repair /parts replacement and keep vehicle accessories counted, logo intact, functional safety tools kits and equipment.
  • Maintain the field vehicle/ cars and work area clean, fueled and in good condition at all times
  • Maintain logbooks and fuel consumption records on a regular basis, take cautious measures on keeping original keys, tools, reserve tires/rims and communicate officially when needed.
  • Consistently monitor vehicle performance, submit maintenance request or advice timely and follow-up accomplishments
  • Prepare monthly vehicle usage report and submit timely
  • Provide administrative support to the unit and other divisions/departments per request.
About You

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

  • Education: 12th or 10+2, TVET Diploma, 3rd grade valid driving license

Technical Training qualifications required: Minimum third grade driving license

  • Basic English spoken and writing.
  • Able to carry out limited, un-supervised tasks

Additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position.

  • Experience: Minimum of Three years of Driver mechanic position in NGO work.
  • Skill in routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
