Job Description
Sentinel Steel PLC was established in December 2013 with the purpose of setting up a hot rolling steel manufacturing plant in Ethiopia. It’s manufacturing facility is located in Bishoftu, Oromia State, Ethiopia. The company’s rebar manufacturing facility is intended to serve the burgeoning demand for quality steel in the local construction sector having a steel plant with an initial installed hot rolling capacity of 120,000 – 150,000 metric tons per annum (tpa).
Currently, the manufacturing facility is looking for qualified and ambitious Senior Mechanic for its Manufacturing plant as per the following description:
Summary of the Job
- Undertakes repair and installation work of electrical machinery and equipment, reconditions electrical supply lines, participate in all overhaul and preventive maintenance work.
Detail duties and responsibilities
- Receives general instructions regarding duties and responsibilities from the senior electrician.
- Undertakes the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical/electronic machinery and equipment that has got moderate complexity.
- Visits all electrical installations in assigned area of responsibility and checks the working conditions of all electrical systems.
- Reports on any irregularities to superior for preventive repair or maintenance work.
- Assists the senior electrician in major repair, maintenance and installation works.
- Takes the defective unit to the electrical workshop for proper repair and maintenance.
- Participates in all overhaul and preventive maintenance work.
- Reconditions electricity supply lines and ensures proper insulation of all electrical transmission wire.
- Performs any other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
Education and Major requirements
- Diploma in electrical Engineering or similar field of study from a recognized university/college and 2 years related work experience.
- Or Certificate (10+2) from a recognized technical and vocational school in electricity or similar field of study and 6 years related work experience
Other requirements
- Extensive knowledge of electrical/electronic maintenance principles and procedures.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationship with others.
- Basic knowledge of operations and production management Perfection and detail orientation skill and proficiency in utilizing necessary appliances.
Language Skill
- English and Amharic and or Afan Oromo
