Position Summary: Farm Manager
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Farm Manager to lead agricultural development projects at our schools in Homosha and Assosa and guest house in Assosa. This role will focus on building diversified, small-scale farms that serve both educational and food production purposes, including gardening, irrigation, livestock, and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement site-specific farm layouts for vegetables, fruits, livestock, beekeeping, and dairy production.
- Install and maintain efficient small-scale irrigation systems.
- Select and cultivate suitable crops for food production and agricultural demonstration.
- Oversee full-cycle farm operations: land preparation, planting, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
- Recruit and manage local farm labor.
- Integrate farming activities into the school curriculum by engaging students in hands-on agricultural learning.
- Maintain tools, irrigation systems, and ensure safe farm operations.
- Provide regular monthly progress reports.
- Travel between Homosha and Assosa to coordinate and supervise farm activities at both locations.
