Major Responsibilities:-

Food safety assurance expert is responsible for quality and safety of a company’s food products, conduct tests and inspections identify packaging process, product issues, and presenting solutions while strictly adhering to the company’s and national policies, procedures and safety rules.

Specific responsibilities;

• Perform inspections and analysis on the incoming, processing and delivery product, record the results and report any discrepancies.
• Conduct pre-operational and operational inspections daily to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
• Work with warehouse and shop staff and management on any discrepancies to assure proper compliance is maintained.
• Assists in the oversight of the management and maintenance of the policies and procedures for Risk Testing, Fraud Prevention, and Internal Controls.
• Assist with customer complaint investigations.
• Provide feedback and corrective action recommendations to associates regarding quality/food safety practices with courtesy and professionalism.
• Perform a quality check of product(s); investigate product issues identified, review to identify any potential issues and communicate necessary changes in a timely manner.
• Respond to questions presented regarding product quality, food safety, and product specification or other quality related items.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Implement and maintain company food safety & quality assurance programs.
• Develops and leads implementation of plans, clearly defining the critical issues and approach to be used in resolving food safety issues.
• Leads all corrective and preventive actions necessary as related to the identification of food safety issues.
• Directly responsible for implementation and maintenance of the food safety plan to ensure that all prerequisite programs, preventive controls, and critical control points perform within expected standards.
• Performs all third party (suppliers), customer audits and inspections.
• Seeks to establish constructive working relationships with inspectors
• Responsible for reviewing results of internal facility and warehouse inspections. Implements corrective and preventive actions for on time completion.
• Responsible for monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.
• Ability to travel to other company locations on a monthly basis to conduct QA internal inspections.
• Undertakes all other related duties as may be required

Job Requirements

• Sc. degree in a food-related discipline, such as food science or a graduate degree in a similar field and 1 up to two years direct experience.
• Professional experience in food production or other food-related industry
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP,GMP and ISO standards and systems is a plus
• Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations
• Solid computer and systems knowledge
