Description:
- The General Services Section Head is responsible for managing and coordinating all general support services required for smooth factory and office operations in an FMCG/manufacturing environment. The role ensures efficient administration of facilities, transport, security, utilities, catering, cleaning, and related services while maintaining cost control, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise general services including facilities management, utilities, transport, security, cleaning, and catering services.
- Ensure availability and proper maintenance of buildings, offices, factory premises, and common facilities.
- Manage company vehicles, fuel usage, drivers, maintenance schedules, and transport logistics.
- Coordinate security services and ensure the safety of company assets, employees, and premises.
- Oversee utilities management (water, electricity, waste, and other services) and monitor consumption and costs.
- Administer procurement and inventory of general service supplies, furniture, and office equipment.
- Support employee welfare services such as canteen, uniforms, ID cards, accommodation (if applicable), and office services.
- Prepare and monitor general services budgets and control operational costs.
- Maintain service contracts with vendors and ensure service quality and compliance with agreements.
- Prepare periodic reports on general services performance, costs, and resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, supervise, and develop general services staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Additional training in facilities or fleet management is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in general services or administration, preferably in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Core Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of facilities, transport, and general services operations.
- Experience in vendor and contract management.
- Good planning, budgeting, and reporting skills.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based manufacturing environment.
