The Opportunity
The position holder will be responsible to manage and keep up-to-date Plan International Ethiopia’s corporate web site and social media platforms in order to promote the organization’s image and increase public awareness with the aim of attaining Gender Justice for Girls, Adolescent Girls and Young Women.
About You
The Individual
- BA/MA degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Computer Science, Information Management or related field from recognized educational institutions
- At least 5 years of relevant experience out of which 1yrs on a senior level experience (not necessarily gained in an NGO or INGO) or demonstrated equivalent combination.
Qualifications/ Experience Desirable:
- Proven work experience as a Graphic and Multimedia Designer or a similar position in the design industry with a strong portfolio.
- A portfolio of design content from past work experiences.
- A professional certificate in Illustrator, CAD, or equivalent.
- Proficient in multimedia designing tools such as Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of storyboards, animation, and visual designs.
- Experience in using social media and website or managing online communication;
- Experience in photos, still and video editing preferred;
- Understanding of the principle behind social media, and their potential to deliver interactive communications;
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing to meet tight deadlines.
- A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
- Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
- Ensures that the team members under supervision are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
- Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
- Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
