A Digital Head leads the digital transformation strategy, aiming to improve customer experience, drive revenue, and enhance operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include defining and implementing digital product roadmaps (apps/web), managing cybersecurity/regulatory compliance, analyzing customer data for insights, and managing digital marketing and adoption.
Core Responsibilities of a Head, IT and Digital Department
- Strategic Digital Leadership: Developing and executing the MFI’s long-term digital strategy to drive transformation and stay competitive.
- Product Development & Management: Overseeing the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of digital banking platforms, including mobile apps and internet banking, to ensure user-friendly experiences.
- Customer Experience (CX) & Adoption: Optimizing the digital journey across all channels, focusing on user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) to increase customer engagement and adoption rates.
- Digital Marketing & Growth: Driving digital marketing initiatives, increasing digital sales, improving client acquisition, and identifying monetization opportunities for digital products.
- Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all digital products meet financial regulations, compliance standards, and internal security protocols.
- Data Analytics & Insights: Leveraging customer behavior data and analytics to make informed decisions and optimize digital services.
- Strategic Partnerships & Innovation: Identifying new fintech partners and technologies to enhance digital offerings and maintain a modern, competitive edge.
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- 5/4 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in managerial/supervisory roles.
- Strong English communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Technical expertise
- Demonstrable experience managing ICT and Digital operations and change.
- Demonstrated experience applying emerging technologies.
- Strong understanding of digital payment systems, cybersecurity, software engineering, and banking technology.
- Strong ability to collaborate with IT and traditional banking units to drive change.
- Proven experience in digital operations, ICT, and implementing digital transformation.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, SEO/SEM, and data analytics.
- Strong relationship management, team leadership, and strategic planning skills are essential.
