CAFOD, SCIAF and Trόcaire (CST) represent the official development agencies of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, Scotland and Ireland. In Ethiopia, the three agencies work together to help reduce poverty, promote development and respond to humanitarian emergencies with the Catholic Church as well as local and international NGO partners.
Trócaire (on behalf of CAFOD, SCIAF and Trocaire) is coordinating a Humanitarian capacity-strengthening project, SCORE (Strengthening the Humanitarian Capacity of Local Organisations to Respond Effectively in Emergencies) that will be implemented within 18-month project period.
CST is currently looking for competent candidate for the position of Humanitarian Coordinator who will base in CST’s office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role will report to the SCORE-Regional Coordinator and line Manages Programme Officer and Monitoring and Evaluation officer.
Job Purpose
Humanitarian Coordinator post is responsible to provide technical support on humanitarian capacity building to Resilient Community partners of CST (CAFOD, SCIAF and Trócaire) and coordinate the SCORE project partners in Ethiopia.
Job Scope
Technically support for SCORE and Resilient Community Programme partners on capacity strengthening planning, budget Management, progress report and contract Management.
Job Requirements
Job-Specific Competencies
- 5 years and above relevant work Experience in Humanitarian Response coordination
- Knowledge of different Humanitarian Standards like CHS, NGO/Red Cross code of conduct, the people in Aid Code, and other regulatory codes.
- Knowledge of current humanitarian context of country
- Practical Knowledge & experience in coordination capacity building programme, consortium projects, budget management, partnership approach.
Desirable
- Good communication skill and knowledge of local languages especially Afaan Oromo
