About the Job

Job Purpose

To provide safe, comprehensive, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients through continuous assessment, monitoring, timely intervention, effective communication, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and continuously monitor critically ill patients.
  • Monitor vital signs, neurological status, oxygenation, cardiac rhythm, fluid balance, and other relevant clinical parameters.
  • Provide individualized nursing care based on patient condition and physician orders.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other prescribed treatments safely.
  • Monitor and manage patients receiving oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation within the nurse’s scope of practice.
  • Assist with invasive procedures and other critical care interventions.
  • Recognize deterioration in patient condition and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
  • Respond promptly to cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
  • Monitor intake/output, laboratory results, and other relevant clinical findings.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control standards, including appropriate use of PPE and aseptic techniques.
  • Ensure proper handling and monitoring of ICU equipment and promptly report malfunctioning equipment.
  • Provide appropriate care to patients with central lines, arterial lines, urinary catheters, drains, and other invasive devices.
  • Educate and communicate with patients and families as appropriate.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary patient care discussions and handover.
  • Ensure safe and effective shift handover.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical audit activities.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
  • Participate in continuing professional development and competency-based training.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
About You
  • BSc Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Valid professional nursing license/registration.
  • ICU/critical care nursing training is preferred.
  • Previous ICU experience is highly desirable.
  • BLS certification is required/preferred.
  • ACLS certification is an advantage.
