About the Job

  • Support the development and Implement of Income-Generating Strategies:
    • Conduct market research and feasibility studies to identify and evaluate potential income-generating ventures.
    • Develop and implement innovative business plans and strategies.
    • Identify and pursue funding opportunities (grants, loans, investments).
    • Manage and monitor the financial performance of income-generating activities.
  • Oversee and Manage Income-Generating Projects:
    • Supervise the day-to-day operations of income-generating projects.
    • Ensure the efficient and effective utilization of resources.
    • Monitor project progress and address any challenges or issues.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders (clients, donors, and partners).
    • Network with other organizations and individuals in the relevant field.
    • Represent the organization at relevant events and conferences when delegated.
    • Produce Progress report to both internal and external stakeholders within deadline.
  • Team Management (if applicable):
    • Supervise and mentor a team of staff involved in income-generating activities at project level.
    • Identify the IGA staffs gaps, develop training modules and provide training to curve skill gaps enhance the performance of the department.
    • Set performance target to staffs under his/her supervision and motivate and inspire staff to achieve performance targets.
About You
  • Bachelor of Art (BA) or Masters in Cooperative Marketing, Cooperative management & Auditing, Business Marketing and Economics.
  • Direct experiences of 4 years’ for BA and 2 years for masters holders same or relevant position mandatory.
  • An experience in an NGO setting is an asset.
  • Have a training SACCOs (Saving and Credit Cooperatives) and practical experiences on SACCOs management.
  • Have a sound experience in cooperative product development, Product marketing and business development
  • Have rich experience in development of Standard Business Plan and provided sound Business Development Services [BDS] to cooperatives can provide evidence for it.
  • Ability to adapt to challenging environments and work under pressure.
