Mekdim Ethiopia National Association (MENA) is an indigenous National Non-governmental, Non-political and not for profit humanitarian organization working in the area of HIV/AIDS prevention, care treatment and support services.  MENA is now in the process of recruiting employees for its USAID MULU KP Activity sub granted from PSI/Ethiopia to be implemented in Addis Ababa; thus, invites competent candidates to apply on the following vacant post:

Major Duties /job summary

• Collects and labels all specimens and ensures that they are as per the order;
• Undertakes laboratory tests as prescribed by the medical staff;
• Puts the interest of clients / patients above all other considerations and ensures the confidentiality of all cases;
• Handles properly all laboratory instruments / equipment and ensures timely reporting of mechanical failures;
• Ensures proper receipt, storage, safe keep, utilization and regular replenishment of enough stocks of required lab supplies by pre-establishing re order level;
• Ensure proper packaging & Transportation of sample
• Maintains proper, up-to-date and orderly daily records of laboratory tests on registration book and ensures their readily availability for reference and inspection;
• Receives laboratory reagents by checking and ensuring the date of expiry;
• Ensures proper storage handling, and issuance of reagents, office supplies and other store items as per standard procedures;
• Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with receipts or Issue Vouchers;
• Performs related tasks as required.
• Ensure that DICs have enough stocks (equipment, detergents, prevention commodities,) and request such materials in advance

Perform Chemistry Tests

Term of Employment one year with possible extension based on availability of funds

Place of work for the position: Addis Ababa

Qualification:

• Diploma or Bachelor science degree (BSc) in Clinical Laboratory from a recognized institution, Plus COC Certificate.

Required Experience:

• Four Year experience in Clinical Laboratory setting and experience in the MULU KPP Project has an Asset
• Recent comprehensive ART training is mandatory
• Computer application skill
• Communications skills
• Fluency in English and local languages
