DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Programe, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.  DEC would like to recruit for the following position:  Monitoring Evaluation Learning MEL Assistant for the IYA Kefeta Project

Job Summary;

MEL Assistant; The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning assistant participates in the planning, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities of Programs/Projects. She/he designs and participates in all MEL-related activities, mobilizes resources, initiates and checks the implementations of programs/projects, and fosters collaborations to attain the organization’s mission and objectives.

Roles and responsibilities 

  • Work to provide support on  leadership, oversight, and coordination for the PMEL unit,
  • Plan assessment and Research activities of DEC projects with a clear methodology that supports the efficient implementation and achievement of goals.
  • Preparing and timely submitting all project-related reports and documents.
  • Support Program teams to provide timely and quality reporting to inform the management team
  • Design surveys and other data collection tools to gather data internally
  • Coordinate regular meetings with MEL contacts;

About You

Education and work experience.

  • BA in social science, evaluation, Economics, information technology, or a related field with the equivalent of a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position

Age   25 – 35

Additional Skill

  • Good communication skills in teamwork team mobilizations and partnership management;
  • Experience in facilitating assessments, best practice capturing and working with communities
  • Good report writing, use of technology application skills
