Aligned to its vision, mission and strategic objectives, MSD has been working in different development, emergency and humanitarian endeavors including HIV Prevention, care and support, Orphan and vulnerable children (OCV) care and support, Sexual and Reproductive health (SRH),Family Planning (FP), Gender Based Violence (GBV), migration, child protection and environmental protection. Through these technical area and services, it reached different hard to reach target groups including early married girls, GBV survivor, OVCs, refugees, PLHA, commercial sex workers and their clients, waitresses, long truck drivers, CSOs, CBOs and the community. At community level, the organization works with community members and community based social service providing institutions, schools, health facilities, government line offices, marginalized groups and professional associations.

Project Overview: This is child protection project going to be implemented in Amahara region: North Gojam (Bahir Dar Zuria Woreda , Merawi town) & Awi Zone (Chagni town and Gugsa Shkudaj ( Tilil town) with financial and technical support of UNICEF Ethiopia and partnership of regional and sub-regional government and community level structures. The project is intended to & alleviates the suffering of 3000 Children through child protection packages of services in the four implementation woredas.
MSD is looking for qualified and competent applicants for the following position:
JOB SUMMARY
Monitoring and Evaluation officer is a position in the organization with the overall responsibility of developing monitoring plan, consolidating, document, track and update M&E data as well as ensuring the data is of the best quality possible. She/he will continuously engage in supervising performance of the project against the plan, providing technical assistance to project staffs, and coordinate periodic performance review, site level JISS with the relevant stakeholders.
About You
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoring project activities, outputs and progress towards anticipated results and working with data platforms, databases and select technologies to capture and organize data
- Facilitating the input of project staff, partners and other stakeholders in project design and measurement activities.
- Participating in and providing support to project design activities including development of project theories of change and strategic frameworks (Results Frameworks, Log Frames and result chain)
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks/plans to assess; and track project progress, outcomes and effectiveness against the intended goal and objectives ;
- Undertake continuous data management (data cleaning, sorting, categorizing and organizing data quality assessments, Analysis and Reporting) and quality assurance per donor requirement and organization standard and guideline;
- Determining data analysis procedures and use of quantitative or qualitative analysis tools
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual financial and project performance reports of the project and submit to organization and donor per the designated timeline.
- Put in place a monitoring system to collect baseline and periodic data for tracking project performance and decision making;
- Periodically conduct monitoring, JISS, review meeting with staffs, regional and sub-regional stakeholders.
- Maintain project documents, lessons and innovations as part of knowledge management.
- Provide support to knowledge management processes within the organizations and Contributing to institutional learning processes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- Master’s degree/Bachelor degree in social science, statics , economics, or relevant fields;
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- 2 /4 years of monitoring and evaluation experience in both development and humanitarian contexts with NGOs.
- Experience with research methods and data management and analysis in both development and humanitarian programming
- Experience in evaluation design and management response projects
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent internal consultation and liaison skills; facilitation and coaching skills
- Excellent analytical and creative abilities with strong results orientation
- Fluency in English and local language
