The organization operates an orthopedic workshop fully equipped with advanced machinery and tools required for producing high-quality assistive technologies and other need-based products to support persons with disabilities and meet local market demands.
Job Summary:
CF-AI is seeking a dynamic and skilled Orthopedic Workshop Production Specialist to lead the production of assistive technologies and other custom metal and wood products tailored to the needs of the local market. The specialist will be responsible for maximizing production capacity, ensuring the efficient use of workshop resources, and maintaining high-quality standards while soliciting and handling market orders with professionalism and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and optimize workshop machinery, including lathe machines, CNC routers, and wood combiner machines.
- Design and produce assistive devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, walking frames, and canes for visually impaired individuals.
- Develop and manufacture various metal and wood products aligned with local market needs.
- Maximize production capacity and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Solicit and manage market orders, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Innovate and improve product designs based on feedback and market trends.
- Train and supervise workshop staff to maintain productivity and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory, and orders.
Employment Type: Contractual with a possibility of extension
About You
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Degree or Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Certification as an orthopedic technician is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of [2-5 years] of experience in a workshop setting, with a proven track record in assistive technology production and custom metal/woodwork.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating lathe machines, CNC routers, wood combiners, and other related equipment.
- Strong design skills, including the ability to create custom products for diverse needs.
- Knowledge of assistive device standards and ergonomic design principles.
