Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children with intellectual disabilities to identify their physical needs and limitations.
- Develop individualized physiotherapy treatment plans based on assessment findings, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Implement evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, techniques, and exercises to improve motor skills, mobility, coordination, and physical function.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of children undergoing physiotherapy interventions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education and guidance to parents/caregivers on appropriate home exercises, adaptive equipment, and techniques to support the child’s physical development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of intellectual disability and physiotherapy.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, ensuring confidentiality and respect for the rights of children and their families.
- Contribute to research activities and program development initiatives related to intellectual disabilities and physiotherapy.
- Gross Salary: 11,500 ETB

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Valid license or registration to practice as a physiotherapist in Ethiopia.
- Strong knowledge of neurodevelopmental and motor disorders associated with intellectual disabilities.
- Familiarity with evidence-based physiotherapy interventions and techniques for children with intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate physiotherapy interventions effectively.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and engage with children and their families.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children with intellectual disabilities.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Amharic and English language.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying updated with the latest research and practices in the field.
