Background
Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organization (MCMDO) is an Ethiopian resident charity organization established in 1997 and re- registered in accordance with the charities and societies proclamation No 1113/2019 with a certificate No 0022. MCMDO currently is being implementing more than 16 projects and development activities in Oromia, SNNP Ethiopia, Somali, Gambella, Benishangul Gumuz, Tigray, Amhara, Harari, Dire Dawa and City Administration of Addis Ababa.
Job Summary
MCMDO collaboration with UNICEF Implement pilot project on improving the screening for wasting and the identification and treatment of wasted in Ethiopia, The project coordinator is responsible to over plan, coordinate, implement, and monitor all interventions and activities of the project focusing on effective execution of universal and targeted preventive intervention packages, Implementation of innovative packages to enhance early detection and effective treatment of acute malnutrition at both the facility, community and HH levels, engagement of the Alliance for Development (AFDs)/community structures to promote prevention, early detection, and treatment of wasting, improve communication and coordination between Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and AFDs and Collaborate with the research and evaluation team as required
- Project field coordinator is responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring of the Implementation Research on improving the screening for wasting and the identification and treatment of wasted children (R-SWITCH) in Ethiopia project in close collaboration and coordination with the program coordinator and partners.
- Follow up passive nutritional screening. early detection and treatment of malnutrition,
- Strengthening of engagement of AFD, coordination and communication between AFD/Hews, Ensure prevention of acute malnutrition, promotion SBCC on nutrition, support Family MUAC
- Periodic field visit to the project sites and provide formal and informal feedback for project staffs and partners
- Responsible for proper management of human and financial resources efficiently and effectively for the realization of the project objective.
- Produce quality weekly, monthly and quarterly statistical report and share for partners and head office.
- Establish strong partnership relation with the government, community and other stake holder and regularly monitor the performance result of the relation through productive review meeting and joint field monitoring.
- Provide ongoing feedback for field staff and government stakeholders on project implementation status and operational challenges
- Write weekly/monthly/quarterly comprehensive and high-quality project progress report
- Identify lesson learned and potential best practices and incorporate in the next action plan
- Participate different workshop, review meeting, virtual meeting with project partners biweekly/monthly
- Work additional activities assigned by project Coordinator

About You
Minimum requirements:
- Degree or master’s in public health/ nutrition or related subjects or experience in the specialized field
- Substantial experience in community-based nutrition programming and Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM)
- Experience directing and implementing Nutrition programs research
- Experience of living and working under difficult and challenging environments.
- Ability to design and implement capacity building plans for staff and partners
- Experience in development of donor proposals and reports
- Strong communication, interpersonal and representation skills
- Ability to analyses nutrition information, evaluate options, think and plan strategically
- Report writing and budgeting management skills
- Able to work with minimum supervision
- Proficiency in virtual software (MS teams, zoom and Google meet)
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Knowledge of the local language
