The Ethiopian National Association of Persons Affected by Leprosy, ENAPAL is an association legally established by leprosy affected persons themselves to advocate their rights and create awareness in the society about the badly misunderstood and unnecessarily feared disease leprosy.

Moreover, ENAPAL is committed to socio-economic rehabilitation of its members that enable them to regain dignity and self-esteem that they are deprived of due to the superficial sign and disabling effect of the disease that occurs because of untimely referral to the proper treatment.

About the “We Are Able” Project:

“We Are Able” (WAA) is a transformative initiative aimed at improving food security and livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities. The project focuses on co-creating inclusive governance by involving Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and public authorities to influence laws, policies, and practices that hinder full and effective participation of persons with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the “We Are Able” project, ensuring that all activities are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with PAL’s and OPDs community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of project activities.
  • Develop and monitor project work plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project staff and ensure the quality of project outputs.
  • Liaise with local government authorities, partners, and donors to ensure smooth project implementation and alignment with local policies.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress, assess impact, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit detailed project reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) ENAPAL project Manger / Director.
  • Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for OPDs and community members as part of the project’s advocacy and awareness-raising efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with ENAPAL’s safeguarding policies and maintain high standards of accountability and transparency.

Location: Addis Ababa, with frequent travel to project sites

Employment Type: Contract Duration: One year, with the possibility of extension

About You

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Project Management, or a related field.
  • For Bachelor’s degree minimum of 6 years and for Master’s degree 4 years of experience in project management,  preferably in the area of disability inclusion or community development and good experience in project development.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects and working with local government authorities.
  • Strong understanding of issues related to disability, inclusion, and rights-based approaches.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English, Amharic, knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage.
