About the Job
DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs: Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.
Job Summary
Provide technical guidance; ensure that gender perspectives are meaningfully incorporated into program design, implementation, and monitoring. Represent DEC on Gender and inclusion-related concerns in the program, Advocate for gender equality and inclusion within program implementation.
Specific Job Description
- Develop Project Plans; maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
- Contribute to technical excellence at consortium by being an active member of the technical working lab assigned.
- Active participation and building of trust with concerned bodies and other stakeholders and working closely with IGAs, Women’s associations, private sectors,
- Provide technical assistance to project implementation to foster continuous improvement in quality in both programmatic and operational performance.
- Create a good and collaborative work atmosphere with the Program Coordinator, Grassroot community
- Mobilizes resources initiates and implements projects, and ensures achievements to attain the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Ensures, and Supports that the program/ project strategic objectives and results are fully achieved and meet expected technical quality standards.
- Participate in the preparation of project proposals, timeframes, schedules, and budgets.
- Communicate and cooperate with relevant stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Responsible for maintaining crucial project documents that track project progress.
- Closely watch the project schedule, monitoring deadlines for each project task.
- Organizing, attending, and participating in stakeholder meetings, documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
- Monitor and track project progress handle any issues that arise and report on the progress of a project to all concerned stakeholders.
- Use project management tools to monitor working hours, budgets, plans, and money spent.
- Prepare/update project status reports, process invoices, update tracking reports, and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
About You
Qualification BA/MA
- BA/MA in Project mgt, Sociology Social work
- Minimum 7 years NGO/CSO
Additional Skill
- Fluent in English languages, Writing, and speaking skills in additional local languages are a plus ;
- Good communication skills in teamwork team mobilizations and partnership management;
- Experience in facilitating assessments, best practice capturing and working with communities
- Experience in working in /with TVET.
- Ability to conduct training and track progress;
- Good report writing, use of technology application skills ;
- Advanced PC skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel as well as other financial software packages.
